​Given the distances between the northern and southern islands a physical electrical link would involve more than 50 km of submarine cables and 3 large transformers (one at the start and two at the end), which would result in an unacceptable additional cost of around €12 million, hence the idea of supplying
​the remote islands with competitive green hydrogen generators


With a peak power of 532 KW for the 3 central islands, and a classic medium 
voltage/low voltage transformer of 25 KVa, the cross-section of the specific cables
remains reasonable, of the order of 240 mm² for losses of less than 1% outside of
​the problematic zones (in orange and red).
